We’ll have a ranch in Ogun soon- Governor Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun disclosed that his administration would soon have a world-class ranch 
in the state, to be created through a Public-Private Partnership.

The Governor, who disclosed this in his office while receiving a team from Irish Dairy Milk who were in the state to discuss how best they could set up their manufacturing plant in the state, said that his administration was glad about the opportunity the agricultural sector brings to the table.

He said: “We are very excited by the opportunity that the agricultural sector presents; the agricultural sector is one of our biggest pillars. Agriculture for us, we see it as one of our biggest pillars because not only do we believe that through agriculture we can employ our youths, we can guarantee food security, we can also generate revenue.

“At this point in time in this country, there is a lot of discussion on cattle rearing, cattle ranching, for us in Ogun State, besides the fact that we are looking at agric as a sector, we are looking at livestock as well. We believe that our proximity to other states gives us the advantage of being able to feed them as well via poultry, so we are actually looking at how to set up our own ranches to be owned by the Public-Private Partnership, PPP.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Irish Diary Milk, Global, Samir Boudjada noted that the company chose the state because of its proximity to Lagos state.

Aisha Buhari breaks silence on rape allegation against COZA pastor

The wife of Nigeria president, Aisha Buhari has dropped her comment on the rape allegation against pastors and religious leaders.

Aisha Buhari on her verified Twitter page on Wednesday,10th of July, 2019called on the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to take action in the alleged case of rape against founder and senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Aisha posted alongside the video thus: “IG of police get involved, everyone, get involved, say no to rape.”

I will never divorce my husband – Omodele Fatoyinbo

The Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Omodele Fatoyinbo has backed her husband Biodun Fatoyinbo over an alleged rape scandal.

This is because Omodele is ready to stand by her husband and retain his surname till she die and she does not care what anybody is saying about the matter.

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo was accused of rape by Busola Dakolo, wife of inspirational musician, Timi Dakolo; and another unidentified lady within the space of a week.

The COZA founder, however, has since denied the allegations and taken a leave of absence.

She was quoted by a popular Christian site on Facebook, Church Gist, as saying that those thinking she would change her surname should calm down as she would never do such a thing.

Omodele said until she sees Jesus, her surname would be Fatoyinbo.

“As for Omodele, until I see Jesus, my surname cannot change, so you better calm down,” she said.

Man secures divorce as wife demands bribe before sex

Risikat Adegboyega, a mother of four children has lost her sixteen-year-old marriage as an Igando Customary Court in Lagos State granted the request of her husband to dissolve the union because she allegedly demands a bribe before sex.

The court president, Adeniyi Koledoye, held on Thursday 11th of July, 2019 that since the petitioner insisted on divorce in spite of interventions, the court is left with no option other than to grant his wish.

“The court hereby dissolves the marriage between Pastor Abayomi Adegboyega and Mrs Risikat Adegboyega; you henceforth cease to be husband and wife.

He continued, “each of you should go his or her separate ways unmolested. The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavours.

“The custody of the first and third children of the marriage are awarded to the petitioner while that of the second and fourth children are awarded to the respondent, their mother.

“The petitioner must be paying N10,000 (ten thousand naira only) monthly for the feeding of the two children in the woman’s custody and must be responsible for their education and general welfare,” he held.

Mr Koledoye also ordered that the petitioner should pay N200,000 to the woman for her to move on with her life.

It was reported that the 48-year-old, Adegboyegahad sought divorce on grounds that his wife demands `bribe’ from him before sex.

“My wife starves me of sex, she will never allow me to sleep with her unless I give her money or buy her a gift,” he had told the court.

He vowed to kill himself if the court would not dissolve the union which produced four children.

“Risikat should never come near me, I do not want to have anything to do with her again.

“She is irritating me, I will kill myself if the loveless marriage is not dissolved,” he said.

The embittered husband also alleged that his wife cooked his food late and tarnished his image in public.

“My wife wants my ministry to collapse, she defames my character before my members and others; people who want to help me refuse because of what they hear from her,” he said.

She prayed the court not to dissolve the union, saying that she still loved him in spite of his misbehavior.

Court dismisses suit against Nile University

The National Industrial Court, on Thursday 11th July, 2019, dismissed the case filed by one Mr Christopher Njoku against Nile University of Nigeria seeking payment of salaries and entitlements, for lacking in merit.

Delivering judgment, Justice Sanusi Kado, held that there was no valid contract of service between the claimant and the Institution, this he said had made the claimant not eligible to make claims for salaries.

Kado said “a meticulous examination of the provisions of the last page of the letter of appointment, will in no doubt expose the fallacy of the claim of the claimant that he had fully and completely accepted the offer of appointment as Assistant Lecturer in the Department/Faculty of Mass communication.

“To this extent, the claimant has not resumed duty at the defendant as required by the terms, conditions, and agreement to govern his contract of employment with the claimant.

”The non-signing which is a condition precedent to the validity of the acceptance has rendered the acceptance of the offer of appointment inconclusive in view of the said defect in the acceptance of the contract.

“In view of this glaring finding, I hereby hold that there is no contract of employment between the claimant and the defendant to entitle the claimant to have his claims granted by this court.

”The reason for this decision is not farfetched. It is due to lack of definite acceptance which was as a result of non-signing and accepting the offer.”

The claimant from his Statement of facts stated that he was employed by the defendant on Aug.2, 2016 as a full-time lecturer.

He said from the time he assumed duty, he was never paid salary by the defendant.

The defendant in its Statement of defence agreed that the claimant was given employment, but that he did not completely accept the said employment and never assumed duty.

The defendant also stated that the condition precedent to acceptance of the offer by the claimant would have been his undergoing a lecture presentation interview, signing, countersigning of offer letter and documentation before resumption of duty- all of which the defendant submitted that the claimant failed to do.

Man accuses friend of stabbing him, theft

Simon Stephen, who accused his friend, Nafiu Mua’azu, of being a thief, today, told a Gwagwalada Upper Area Court in the FCT that the friend stabbed him on the chest with a knife.

Stephen, who was led in evidence by the prosecutor, Insp. Martha Paul, told the court that he caught Mua’azu “red handed” when he broke into his father’s house on March 13, to steal.

“I caught my friend, Mua’azu, at about 2.30 a.m. when he entered my father’s house to steal.
“I recognised him and called his name and when he noticed that I had seen him, he used a knife to stab me on the left side of my chest.”

The witness told the court that he was later taken to the University Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, where he spent N200,000 on treatment.

Mua’azu, a resident of Anguwan Dodo in Gwagwalada, was earlier arrested and arraigned on a four-count charge of joint act, criminal trespass, causing grievous hurt and theft, but he denied the charges.
The prosecutor had told the court that the accused and one other now at large, criminally trespassed into the compound of the complainant of the same address with intention to steal.

She said that when the accused was caught, he stabbed the complainant with a knife on the left side of his chest, leading to serious bleeding and hospitalisation.

The presiding judge, Alhaji Babangida Hassan, adjourned the matter to July 9 for continuation of hearing.

Son machetes father to death

A 65-year-old man, Mr. Felix Atta, a native of  Umuonu Umuida community, Enugu Ezike in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State has allegedly been killed by his son.

According to police, the alleged murderer identified as one Ejiofor Atta, used a machete to slaughter his father for reasons yet to be known.

He was said to have gone into hiding after committing the crime and security men and family members have commenced manhunt for him.

According to report, Ejiofor, about six years ago murdered his mother. It was gathered that the unfortunate incident took place at about 2 p.m on May 18 at Umuonu Umuida where the son of the deceased allegedly macheted his father who was believed to be about 65 years old to a state of unconsciousness.

The victim was, however, rushed to the General Hospital,  Ogrute Enugu Ezike where he was confirmed dead while his corpse was deposited at the hospital’s  mortuary.

In a related development, the police said a 56-year-old-man had allegedly hung himself on a wall hanger in his room at Umuenachi Amalla Egazi in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Amaraizu said the victim who is said to be suffering from a partial stroke reportedly committed suicide in his room. He said the lifeless body was found hanging on the wall hanger at about 7.30a.m on May 21.
 
He said investigations had commenced into the incident while the body of the deceased had been deposited at Prince Eze Hospital Mortuary, Obollo Afor for post mortem examination.
