Nollywood
star John ‘Mr Ibu‘ Okafor was a recent guest on Golden Icons interview
session. The comic actor discussed about the rate of homosexuality in
Nollywood.
Speaking with Ema Emerson Ibu clearly shows
his disdain, stating that homosexualty was one of the two things
killing the Nigerian movie industry, the other being piracy.
‘I’m
sorry if my friends are involved. It is a virus and it is killing our
industry. If there is any way in this world that people can make them
stop it or kill it, please do it’, Mr Ibu stated.
‘God will punish you, because God did not advise you to do it. God desgined women and dashed us for free‘, the actor added.

“I Am Not Dating Mikel Obi” – Actress Shan George Cries Out
Shan George knows she is cannon for controversies and is
unapologetic about it. Recently, she was quoted to have said that most
married Nollywood actresses are not faithful to their husbands, that
they keep numerous lovers. that allegation was said to have rankled a
number of her colleagues who felt scandalized by such revelations.
The mother of two boys said that offensive article misrepresented her statement and was motivated by the writer’s desire to cause unnecessary friction between her and her colleagues in the industry.
“That was such a low blow. Why should it be my problem to know – not to talk about other people’s marriages and what they are doing or not doing? It is not my nature to make such judgment calls and most of my colleagues knew the writer of that piece was motivated by hate and not by the desire to help build the industry and the bond of friendship that exist in Nollywood.
If you had attended my premier, you would have seen that almost everyone who is somebody in the industry showed up. Would they have done so, if they thought I was a loose cannon or that I take delight in disparaging other people? No, they would never have done so! I forgive the guy who wrote that offensive piece.”
Shan also used the opportunity to condemn in a strong term the recent news that circulated online that she was photograph nude. “I am really disappointed by the level of ignorance of some people in today’s world. I mean who low can they get.
I went out with some friends of mine to mark my birthday and we were all dressed in swim suit-bikinis. There was no indecent exposure – we were just having fun. The pictures are all on the net. Yet someone after seeing the pictures – went and wrote that I was photographed nude.
Can you imagine that? I can’t imagine if the writer cannot recognize someone wearing a swimming trunk and a naked picture. It is very annoying. I have morals and I would never pose nude – not for a million dollars. You know what I have come to see that in this industry: there are some people who are haters and instead of applauding your efforts, would rather take delight in painting you in colors that do not represent who you are. But I am glad that the majority of my fans worldwide know who I am.”
Recently too, a picture of Shan was posted on line where she was seen seemingly cavorting with the top Chelsea soccer star, Mikel Obi, leading to the speculation that she and Mikel wee dating. When asked, Shan was incredulous “This is really getting crazy. So I can’t even have a drink with someone – just innocently, without being linked romantically with the person?
Mikel Obi is at a talented soccer player whose skills I appreciate. I am his big fan and when they won the Champions Cup last May, I was over the moon with excitement for him and his team mates. We met and had a drink in Lagos recently and that was that! Nothing romantic happened between us. I am not dating Mikel Obi and I hope some of these traffickers of lies can go have themselves some life.”

“I Used My WAEC Lesson Fee To Pay For Instrumentals Of My First Song” – Yung6ix
Making a debut into the Nigerian hip-hop scene all the way from Warri, Delta State isn’t any easy feat at a time when the city of Lagos remains dominant in determining who blows up and who doesn’t. But that’s exactly what Yung6ix did.
After his remix of Ice Prince’s ‘Oleku’ went viral on blogs, which the rapper describes took him to the next level and as soon as the song got out there and between 3 months of it, he had 5 recording offers and two were international. He made his way to Lagos and bagged himself a double label deal with 411 Entertainment and Storm Records.
His single with Wizkid “Follow Me”, fellow label mates and a follow up ‘Green light Green’ mixtape has placed him way above his peers. The self-acclaimed and recently M.I certified “King of the South was born Onome Kohwo and hails from a family of five. “I hail from Delta state where I could rightly say I developed a strong passion for music at the age of 6 when I started dancing at events as a dancehall, hip-hop dancer doing the Michael Jackson thing and was fantastic at that, I was also a member of the children church choir where I partly gained my inspiration from. I started my music career back in High School where I recorded my first song. Back then, we formed a group called G-Squad and represented our school at events back then and I incidentally came our as the best rapper in Delta and since then it’s been fantastic from heights to heights. From the moment I stepped out from that stage, I’ve set my eyes on going bigger”.
When questioned about the challenges he faced while growing up as a rapper he explained that there was no musical industry back then so to say, so all the problems he saw he overcame then and took advantage oƒ. “I didn’t want the fame or money, but for people to accept me for what I can do and accept my talent. Growing up I wanted to be a scientist and always wanted to fix the TV, Generator and other broken electronics and always wanted to discover something new”.
Although as it may seem most parents of this generation have mixed feelings about music and Yung6ix wasn’t an exception as his dad used to break his CDs, Walkman and seize them. “My love for music was so deep and I just kept on going till it got to a level they had to accept me for who I am. Funny though, the first song I recorded at school was used with my WAEC lesson fee to pay for the instrumentals and remember always having to trek from school to studio for close to 2 hours or more. It was really tough back then at school too as we weren’t allowed to do our thing like we would love to but our passion just kept us going stronger & tougher.”
According to 6ix, he doesn’t have a favorite rapper but he looks up to acts such as Lil’ Wayne, Jay-Z, 2Face, Bob Marley and Naeto C and M.I.
Yung6ix has singles, collaborations and a musical album coming up later this year with acts such as WizKid, Naeto C, M.I, Sasha P, Davido, Olamide, Jesse Jagz, Miss Jaiye, amongst others. “I’m also working with Producers like Samklef, E-Kelly, Josh Beats, Tony Ross, Toxic-A and a whole host of others. I’ve also worked with Navio from Uganda, Jozi and some other artists from South Africa”.
Speaking about the Nigerian Music Industry Yung6ix explained, “if the Nigerian music industry is there yet, we won’t have piracy issues. You can’t say the industry is there yet and our music are being sold for Naira especially when you compare the hard work, content and energy put into the album and yet it’s sold for N120 and still we have to battle on how to get it to the Alaba market which we don’t even earn from of which some artists have to pay to even get promoted there.”
His genre of music which he calls Carter is a genre he created to define his kind of music. It’s anything that is good music. He had an advice for upcoming acts, “First of all, they should know their gifts, they should know their calling in life, and many people can be misled by what they see on TV. Whoever has the calling for music should work harder and never give up. Do what you love and love what you do, like i always say determination is the key to success. My manager, Gbemi Ereku always says be truthful to yourself first before you can be successful.”
And for his fans, “I wanna say I deeply appreciate you all my fans and those who have supported me up till this stage, keep it real, keep it up. I love you all and only Jesus loves you more than I do.

Some students of Bayero University Kano students took to the streets yesterday in Kano to protest the death of a female final year accounting student crushed to death by a truck at the gate of the old campus of the institution.
The student, identified as Maryam Bala, was said to be on the pedestrian lane of the strategic highway when the truck overran her and killed her instantly while several others escaped unhurt.
An eyewitness said the deceased was on he way to the old campus when the “reckless driver behind the wheel of the truck lost control”.

Man 28, arraigned for raping eight-year-old girl
A twenty-nine year old man, Kelechi Ebere,
was on Friday arraigned before an Umuahia Magistrate Court for
allegedly raping an eight-year-old primary three pupil, whom he used a
children musical video to lure into his one-room apartment.
The man, who is the manager of a public toilet owned by the Foodstuff Retailers and Traders Union Umuahia Ibeku (FRATU) at Goods Shed Market, Umuahia, pleaded not guilty before the presiding magistrate, Mrs. Eunice Ezebuiro.
The magistrate, who decided to hold the court in her chambers, apparently to protect the identity of the victim since she is a minor and was also expected to give evidence against her violator.
The matter was later adjourned to September 10, 2012 after plea was taken from the accused, while the magistrate ordered that he be remanded in police custody until the day the case had been adjourned.
Ebere was accused of committing the offence on the night of August 28, 2012, when the little girl was attracted into his room to watch a musical video he was playing. It was alleged that it was while the girl was watching the film that he grabbed her and tied her mouth with cloth before raping her.
The matter, however, came to the open when the little girl came out with bruises in her private parts, with her pant and laps smeared with semen. She later narrated her ordeal to her 12-year-old sister, who then rushed to inform their mother.
The mother of the victim, Mrs. Joy Emeribe, told The Nation that she was shocked when she saw her daughter in that situation and since it was already late in the day, she decided to preserve the evidence by neither cleaning up her daughter nor washing the pant she wore when she was assaulted.
Mrs. Emeribe, a widow, said that she had warned her children against entering the room of their randy co-tenant who had attempted to seduce the elder sister of the victim with N500 but failed as she refused his amorous offer.
She said, “I want the police to take the matter to court so that the man would explain why he violated my little daughter. I don’t even know if he did it for ritual purposes, because one wonders the attraction in an eight year old girl.”

Politician in sex tape scandal
A local politician in Spain has been left red-faced after a video in
which she is seen carrying out sexual acts created a buzz on the
internet.
Judicial investigators have identified a person suspected of posting the video on the web, said Olvido Hormigos, a municipal councillor in the village of Los Yebenes, in central Spain.
Hormigos, a primary school teacher and mother of two who also works for the local council, filmed herself masturbating, in images reportedly destined for her husband.
She said she had no idea how the images were stolen from her mobile phone and posted on the internet, where they were soon seen by thousands of people.
The village's governing conservative People's Party, a rival of Hormigos' Socialists, denied any involvement in the affair. Media reports said the judiciary suspected one of Hormigos' acquaintances.
Villagers were soon booing and insulting Hormigos, who announced her resignation. But she then backtracked, saying she had not done anything wrong.
"For God's sake, this is a private act, something that everyone does without being filmed and ... divulging it would be disgusting, an act to hurt this poor woman," new technologies expert Enrique Dans told Spanish daily El Pais on Friday

Illegal Nigerian immigrant admits using dead man’s ID to work in the US
An illegal immigrant from Nigeria admitted at the weekend he assumed the identity of a murdered man so he could work at Newark’s airport, New Jersey, where he was a security supervisor for 20 years. He now faces possible deportation.
Bimbo Oyewole, 54, pleaded guilty in a state court to using a fake security badge under a plea deal in which prosecutors agreed to recommend he receive probation. He had been charged with identity theft when he was arrested in May.
He will be jailed pending sentencing Oct. 19. The state attorney general’s office, which prosecuted the case, said Oyewole faces potential deportation.
Oyewole admitted in court that he is in the country illegally, having entered on a student visa in 1989 and stayed after it expired.
“I came in legally,” Oyewole, hands cuffed behind his back, told the court.
He admitted he used the identity and identity papers of Jerry Thomas, who was shot outside a Queens, N.Y., YMCA in 1992.
Authorities had said Oyewole assumed Thomas’s identity weeks before he died. Police in New York said Thomas had sold his documents to a Nigerian cab driver, who then sold them to Oyewole. They said they had no evidence tying Oyewole to Thomas’ death.
Oyewole said he presented Thomas’ birth certificate and Social Security card to airport officials. He then received ID cards that give airport workers security clearance.
Prosecutors said Oyewole also obtained a New Jersey driver’s license and high school equivalency diploma under Thomas’ name.
The Port Authority, which operates Newark Liberty International Airport, said Oyewole most recently worked for FJC Security Services, a contractor that staffs access gates and had access to airplanes and the tarmac. He supervised about 30 guards.
Port Authority officials were alerted to Oyewole after receiving an anonymous letter about him.
“Today’s conviction will serve notice to all that the Port Authority of NY and NJ will not tolerate fraud or any other criminal misconduct at its facilities,” Port Authority Inspector General Robert E. Van Etten said in a statement.

Journalist In Awka Given The Beating Of His Life By Soldiers
Obviously the boys in khaki have still not gotten used to the fact that the days of military dictatorship is over – the days of “bloody civilian”, “koboko” hounding and other form of high-handedness by these soldiers is past but they don’t seem to live in the present. Stories of abuses and assault of
civilians by these soldiers who are trained, kitted and paid by
Nigerian tax payers’ monies abound, and nothing seems to be done to
halt the trend. In other climes, soldiers treat civilians with respect
and love because they realize that their well-being and that of
their families is highly dependent on the tax paid by civilians. Here,
our soldiers don’t realize it- they loathe and look down upon us like
the scum of the earth while they be some sort of demi-gods to be reverred and feared by all.
The PUNCH carries the story of a journalist, a “bloody civilian” that was brutalized and abducted in Awka by men of the Nigerian Army. Excerpts below:
Soldiers attached to the Awka South Local Government demolition team in Anambra State, on Thursday, beat up and arrested Mr. David-Chyddy Eleke, a reporter with the Leadership newspaper.
The soldiers descended on Eleke as he took a photograph of a demolition exercise on Engr. Arthur Eze Avenue, Awka.
They seized him by the collar of his shirt, hit and threw him into their patrol van before taking him away to an unknown destination.
It was a distraught colleague of Eleke, Uzoma Nzeagwu of The Guardian, who witnessed the incident that sent distress calls about it to reporters.
For a long time, Eleke’s whereabouts could not be established as he was not picking his calls. Apparently, the soldiers had seized his mobile telephone.
As the news got to the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Mrs. Tochukwu Omelu, who was presiding over a state congress of the union at Amawbia, she dismissed the meeting and made contacts until it was established that Eleke was being held at the Awka South LG headquarters.
She then led her members to the Awka South Secretariat, where the LG Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Okoye, was presiding over a meeting of the demolition task force, with the soldiers standing guard outside the building.
As the NUJ team approached, Eleke was released. But the NUJ chairman insisted on seeing the council chairman. After an initial hesitation by members of his staff, Omelu was let in.

Cossy Orjiakor Says “I Am A Born Again Christian, I Go To Church”
She says “Prayer is a personal thing with God. I tell God what is on my mind. All have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. I go to church you know; I am a born again Anglican.” She said.
Cossy also responded to the fact that a lot of misconceptions about her where flying around even amongst her colleagues.
She says “I have bad press publicity about the kind of clothes I wear and all that. There was a time I attended this old school party and I dressed the old school way. The press then wrote that this is how Cossy is, she is looking ugly, and maybe she was on cocaine and all that. How could I go to an old school party looking new school? That day, I even had nice Brazillian weave-on on and I had to weave it any how so that I will look old school. I think they just like talking about me.”
2.6 Million Lagos Residents Are Illiterate – Lagos State Government
Looking at Illiteracy in a larger picture, and bringing the understanding close to home, the Special Adviser to Governor Fashola on Education, Mr. Abdul-Fatai Olukoga, said only 2.6 million Lagos residents are illiterate. He said a recent survey carried out on the 20,546,999 population in the state revealed that 17,875,889 people are literate while 2,671,110 are illiterate.
He said this on Thursday September 6th during this year’s celebration of International Literacy Day in Lagos State.
17.8 million Lagos residents are literate? I don’t know how they arrived at this, but it sure sounds good to my ears.
I Go Die with his new family
So many people wonder what the lives of comedians really look like outside the stage; obviously a part of the question will be answered with this picture as I Go die poses with his happy family.
“I do not have any other lover apart from my beautiful wife who takes care of me and my son,” the comedian said while dismissing rumours that he recently bought an SUV for a lover.

Patience Jonathan Had Fibroids Removed; Husband Plans Secret Visit To German Hospital
Doctors at a German clinic performed
a surgical procedure on Patience Jonathan to remove uterine fibroids,
SaharaReporters has learnt from a presidency source. The source added
that the fibroids might be cancerous, even though he could not confirm
it as German doctors are reportedly conducting further tissue testing.
Another source disclosed that President Goodluck Jonathan was planning a quick and secret trip to Germany to see his ailing wife. Mrs. Jonathan remains hospitalized in Germany almost eleven days after she was airlifted there from Abuja early last week.
SaharaReporters first broke the news that Mrs. Jonathan had been flown to a German hospital for medical treatment for "food poisoning", a condition for which she was reportedly misdiagnosed by doctors at the Presidential clinic in Aso Rock.
“The First Lady underwent surgery for the removal of uterine fibroids,” said our source who is close to the Jonathans.
SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Mrs. Jonathan had traveled to Dubai to have a procedure performed. She then hurriedly returned to Nigeria before she was airlifted to Germany for urgent medical care.
We could not ascertain whether she had tried to have the fibroids removed in Dubai, but other sources had disclosed that she developed an infection in Dubai that necessitated her return to Nigeria and quick evacuation to Germany.
Mrs. Jonathan’s trip to Dubai and Germany had been covered in secrecy before SaharaReporters reported both events.
Sources close to the First Lady had also told SaharaReporters that her closest friend, Bola Shagaya, had convinced her to undergo some form of cosmetic surgery to enhance her looks.
A source in the Presidency told SaharaReporters that President Jonathan was planning a secret trip to see his hospitalized wife in Wiesbaden, Germany. Mr. Jonathan is taking off for official visits to Malawi and Botswana, but our source said the president will fly secretly into Germany from South Africa to visit his wife before returning to Abuja.

Over 190 Air Nigeria passengers
arrived Gatwick Airport 8:30 yesterday morning to fly back to Nigeria,

UNILAG ASUU Threatens To Sue Education Minister For Addressing Institution As MAULAG
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University
of Lagos branch, has said that it will sue the Minister of Education,
Professor Ruqayyatu Rufai for addressing the institution as Moshood
Abiola University (MAULAG) at public functions.
The chairman of the union, Dr Karo Ogbinaka, said this at a news conference tagged, “Wrongful reappointment of Professor Barinemi Fakae as the Vice Chancellor of River State University of Science and Technology,” by the institution’s visitor, the state governor, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, on Thursday.
He said: “We have been watching the minister at public functions, addressing UNILAG as MAULAG despite a court order that the name UNILAG should remain, pending proper legislation on the amendment bill that sets up the institution at the National Assembly and, of course, the consideration of the university’s community.”
According to him, the minister had addressed UNILAG as MAULAG at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, but was cautioned but she had refused to desist from this anomaly.
“We are seriously watching her to address UNILAG as MAULAG again, after which we would sue her for contempt of court,” Ogbinaka said.
On River State University of Science and Technology, where the lecturers are currently on an indefinite strike, Ogbinaka said that the national body of ASUU had taken a position and directed that every branch should observe a day solidarity strike to support the agitation of its counterparts in River State.
He stated that the lecturers at RSUST had embarked on indefinite strike due to illegal appointment of Professor Fakae as the vice chancellor despite that the man could not scale through the interview conducted by the Joint Selection Committee presided over by Justice A.G Karibi-Whyte.

TRUE LOVE: Woman, 23 Dies While Trying To Rescue Boyfriend From Burning Building
Sophie Rosser was coming home from a birthday party to the fifth-floor flat she shared with her boyfriend Oscar Silva when she saw flames and smoke coming from the block.
The 23-year-old architecture graduate, who was about to start a course in interior design, phoned her 28-year-old boyfriend from outside the flats and told him he needed get out quickly.
She then ran into the building in an attempt to warn others of the danger.
Mr Silva and the couple’s flatmate tried to make their way down the building’s fire escape, but found themselves beaten back by thick plumes of smoke and instead rushed out on to the balcony.
As Mr Silva looked down he saw a firefighter carrying Miss Rosser from the burning building in the Isle of Dogs, East London.
Sophie Rosser and Oscar Silva |
Mr Silva, an architect, and Miss Rosser had been living together for more than two years and that they had planned to marry and have children.
He told MailOnline on friday that she called him to alert him to the fire from outside the flats. ‘She told me to wake up my flatmate and get out of the flat.
"We were trying to make our way down the fire escape, which is supposed to be safe, but it was filled with smoke."
Mr Silva said they were only able to get down to the first floor before the heat and smoke became too intense to continue.
"I came back. I came straight upstairs and I tried to call Sophie to say we were safe, but she didn’t pick up.
"I never expected her to come upstairs."
Still stuck on the balcony, the next Mr Silva saw of his girlfriend was as he watched a firefighter carrying her from of the burning building over his shoulder.
"I could see the clothes she had on," he said. "I knew what she had been wearing that night so I knew it was her. I was expecting her to move a leg or something – but there was nothing."
Firefighters said the fire had broken out on the fourth floor. It was there that Miss Rosser collapsed after she rushed into the block of flats on her ill-fated rescue mission.
2 Mothers-in-law Fight Dirty In Lagos; Break Their Children's Marriage
There
was drama in the home of the Ugbalakas recently when the mothers-in-law
of the couple engaged in a fight in which one of them lost a finger.
Mrs. Uche Ugbalaka, who has filed for divorce over the incident, told an Agege Customary Court that her husband's mother chopped off her mother’s finger when she tried to make peace in the family.
She claimed that her husband, Everest Ugbalaka, having realised the consequence of his mother’s action, ran away with his mother. She said her husband later came back with the police and arrested her mother, who was detained for four days.
Mrs Ugbala said what informed her decision to institute a divorce case against her husband was that claimed not to realise the gravity of his mother’s inhumanity to her mother. She said she can no longer have anything to do with Everest again and urged the court to separate them.
On his part, Everest denied the allegation and informed the court that he loves his wife so much that he gave her N600,000 to start a trade. He said she used the money for other purposes, adding that he also bought her a generator to make her comfortable.
He stated that his wife doesn't show enough love to the family, adding that she abandoned him and their two little children, and relocated to a girls’ hostel.
Everest said that he did not enjoy any bit of the marriage, because his wife had been moving in and out of their matrimonial home and all efforts to make peace with her had been abortive as she always rained curses on his mother.
Having listened to both parties the president of the court, Mr. Emmaunel Shokunle, said the matter is a serious one. He adjourned the case to a later date for judgement.

IJEBU IDEA
A young Ijebu man walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the
loan officer. He told the officer that he was going to Lagos on a
vacation, for two weeks, and needed to borrow $5,000
The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Ijebu man handed over the keys to a new brand BMW 6 series. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank. The Ijebu man produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan.
The bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Ijebu man, for using an $80,000 BMW as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the BMW into the bank’s underground garage and parked it there.
Two weeks later, the Ijebu man returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest which came to$15.41.
The loan officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a successful business man. What puzzled us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?
The Ijebu man replied: “Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks, and pay only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I returned?
The bank employees watched as he pulled out of the garage, windows down and sunroof open, juju music blasting from his car as he pulled away.

WOMAN PUTS CHILD IN FREEZER FOR 10 YEARSWOMAN KEEPS BABY IN FREEZER FOR 10YRS German prosecutors said Tuesday they had opened a manslaughter investigation against a 49-year-old woman after the corpse of a new-born baby girl was found in her freezer after 10 years. The grisly find was made by her former husband on Friday when he defrosted the freezer in the house where they used to live, said prosecutors in the northern city of Flensburg. It was not clear whether the baby was alive or dead when placed in the freezer, investigators said. There were no signs she had been violently treated but authorities confirmed the baby was not stillborn. The woman, who has not been named, has admitted the baby was hers and said she was “in a state of complete exhaustion and hopelessness” at the time. The couple already had three, now fully grown, children and divorced in 2009, prosecutors said. The woman was released pending further investigations.

Okada Rider Forced To Suck Bréast Of Passenger Accused Of Indecent Dressing
In a bid to curtail crime and indecency in Osun
State, the state of the virtuous (ipinle omoluabi); the state
government constituted a military task force known as SAS(Swift Action
Squad) to enforce the ‘omoluabi’ principles in the state. It happened
in Osogbo, the Osun State capital few weeks ago, but I didn’t believe
until I heard an eye witness report few days ago.
A lady was caught dressed indecently by SAS. According to the eye witness, her blouse covered just half of her bréast. She was asked to dismount the motorcycle she was riding on, and the Okada rider was asked why he allowed such nudity on his motorcycle. They were both punished by the Swift Action Squad (SAS).
No one would say much about a punishment meted out to someone dressed provocatively in a society that doesn’t accommodate such dressing, but questions need to be asked when the okada rider is forced to suck his passenger’s bréasts.
According to the eye witness, the lady was ordered to bring out her bréast to the full glare of passersby since she was proudly flaunting it. As if that was not enough, she was ordered to breastfeed the okada rider. The okada rider pleaded with them stating his ongoing fast as the reason why he wouldn’t do what they wanted, but he had to oblige after he was whipped severally.
The state government has distanced itself from the actions of the task force and has encouraged citizens of the state to report any member of the task force that whip civilians. Whether actions would be taken against members of the task force that forced the bréastfeeding remains to be seen. However, many inhabitants of Osogbo, the Osun State capital seem to be appreciative of the SAS’ s act as they believe it will curb indecent dressing.

How A Married Man I Met On Bb Almost Killed Me With Sex And Drugged drinks
The role of the social media in building
relationships and businesses cannot be overemphasised. But the negative
aspects seem to be growing with mixed reactions after the death of
Cynthia Osokogu who was killed by friends she met on social media.
Since the case of Cynthia went viral, ladies who were before now ashamed to share their experiences in the hands of bad guys have started talking.
Below is the near-death experience a young lady had with a man who was her BBM friend:
I am a girl who has fears, beliefs, reservations and just your regular typical Nigerian girl. This past few weeks has been one hell of a game for me. I have really been unsettled and I thought I share this story with you.
When Cynthia (the lady killed in the hotel room in Festac, Lagos) surfaced on the internet and various news media, I was scared and it brought back a whole lot of memories to me and also served as and eye opener. Many people castigated and criticised Cynthia (may her gentle soul rest in peace), but my point is, it could have been anybody, anybody at all.
We have met people through various social media. Some have ended up well, some have not but with painful memories. To cut the long story short, let me kindly share with you my encounter with social media especially the very popular Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
I am a graduate and currently serving in Kaduna. I could have runced it, but I needed somewhere to clear my head and forget about my ugly encounter. Here is my story.
I happened to have a married man as a contact on my BBM. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.
I also met his clique of friends, married as well with their various mistresses. We had ‘mad’ fun. After all the clubbing and drinking, he lodged me in a hotel somewhere in Obalende. I felt sort of safe with him. We did not have sex, but he made sweet love to me and touched me in places I had never ever imagined.
He kissed me passionately but guess what? He did not have sex with me. We did all sorts but there was no penetration. So, to an extent, I trusted he was a good person to be around with. I did not know that it was all part of the plan.
He gave me N10,000 and put me in a cab to go home the next morning. We kept talking and chatting and sending naked pictures to each other and he told me naughty things of how he wanted to whisper things in my ear, I blushed. We didn’t see for two weeks and that was because his wife just came back from Turkey.
One faithful evening, he pinged me that he was organising a beach party/boat cruise and that he would love for me to be his date and that he wanted to open a BBM chat, as a medium for his friends and my friends to interact. I was excited about it, I just wanted to have fun. I was able to get five of my very hot friends.
The BBM group opened and we got chatting. I also realise that majority of them were married and working in reputable firms. It was fun and we didn’t mind if they were married, we just wanted to have fun, as well as some other girls apart from my friends in the group.
We chatted exclusively, sent pictures to the BBM group to introduce ourselves, and we had opened group conversations pending the beach party. And as excited as we were, we went shopping for nice sexy beach wears.
The D-day finally came, we all assembled at the Lagos Island Boat Club. I was wowed because it was a high class party. We were cruising in a boat loaded with goodies drinks and hot babes, and as well ‘MARRIED MEN’. I did not care, I just said in my mind that I would not roll with married men anymore after this, that for now, all I wanted to do was to catch some fun. After all, I wasn’t paying bills.
We got there, it was a private beach resort. Most of the beach facilities I got to see there were owned by multinational companies. We got out of the boat, and went to where we were partying. It was a duplex made with wood. It was a very nice setting.
I felt comfortable because it even had a fence around it separating it from other beach houses around. So, there was privacy and of course bouncers (heavy looking guys) guarding the place. I said to myself, this must be heaven, I must be dreaming.
Anyways, we felt free with each other because we had been chatting. It was 5:30pm and the party just started. We had drinks flowing from the private bar tender which happens to be owned by one of the men in the group. Reality struck when I realised that I was feeling dizzy and feeling really funny and light headed. Not only me, but other girls around me too noticed there was something strange about it.
I was also feeling HORNY as hell! I had been drugged. They monitored us and when they knew the drug had really gone deep into our system, they moved us up into the main beach house. I could still see faces, but was too weak and horny to react.
Mr B, the man who took me clubbing, carried me in his hands like a sacrifice and put me down on the floor just as other men also did with their girls. We were eight in numbers; 8 girls, 8 guys, and they all stripped us down and had sex with us.
I enjoyed it a bit because I was horny. It was a mixed feeling because I cried, I moaned, but I did not know how many times he came into me. He pounded me hard. I was dizzy, but he grabbed me with force. All I could notice was the wedding ring on his finger. I thought of how wicked and miserable some married can be. How inhuman and heartless they could be.
All of them took turns in switching partners and slept with all of us. I passed out. That was the last thing I could remember. I felt water poured on me. I noticed all the other girls around me too were half naked and some stark naked.
We spent the night at the beach, but the men were no where to be found. I looked round me and all I could see was packs of used condoms. I ran to pick my cloths and possibly raise an alarm. I got dressed, found my phone with an envelope. It contained N16,000 and a note asking us to take N2000 each for transport. Tears of anger and rage filled my eyes and the girls around me as well.
“We were drugged and used like tissue paper. I grabbed my phone and noticed a ping came in. I checked my phone and I noticed the BBM group had been deleted, and a message via BBM from MR B came in. He threatened me that if I say a word to anyone, I would regret it.
I told him he was a bastard, and he said try it. A picture came in, several pictures. In fact, they were pictures of us being naked on the floor. Pictures of the humiliating us but they blurred the faces of the men. In total, I got 20 pictures. I was not myself for a month.
I went back to school, I had no one to talk to. The rest of the semester was hell for me. My CGPA dropped drastically. It was the worst out of the worst result I ever had.
Till today, my friends and I have not discussed this with anyone, but all I could do when I heard of Cynthia’s story was to narrate my own ordeal anonymously and spread the news, the word, and pray they (ladies who do runs) see it and changed their ways.
I am now born again. I have given my life to Christ. I fear men so much that I cannot even move close to them. I still have nightmares, but with time, God will strengthen me and I will move on. My advice to single ladies out there is, do not be desperate for fun. Pray to God to open your eyes of understanding, and pray hard. He who kneels before God will stand before kings and queens.
To all married women, pray hard to God to intervene in your marriages and turn your husbands from bad habits and bad friends. As for me, I do not think I ever want to get married or date a man again. That chapter has been closed for good in my life.
Please, do not ignore my mail. Please post it. There are a lot of things we ladies need to learn. Please post it on your blog and save a soul. It could be your friend, sister, cousin, neighbour.
