Two men escape lynching in Lagos for allegedly stealing motor bike

t was the timely arrival of men of the Police Force that saved two men, Nurudeen Ayegbola, 26years old and Jamiu Gbenga, 29,from some angry mobs yesterday who were about to set them ablaze for allegedly attempting to steal a motorcycle  at Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
Daily Post gathered that Numiru Alabi was attacked by the suspects with a locally made pistol and were about to abscond with his motorcycle when angry mobs pounced on them.
An eye witness said “They poured fuel on the suspects and were about to set them on fire when the police arrived at the scene and saved the suspects from being lynched.”
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide,confirmed the incident to Daily Post adding that the suspects are being detained at the
State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) Panti, Yaba, and that they will soon be charged to court.
She also noted that the motorcycle has been handed over to the owner.
